the materials
At Shotgun Snowboards we only use the best materials to make our boards. We take pride in handcrafting your board and we only want to put the best materials in your board… because we rider our boards too.
Here are the highlights:
- Base Material – We use Durasurf UHMW-PE sintered base material best known for it’s durability, speed, wax absorption/retention, impact resistance and consistency in extreme temperatures. Basically, it just doesn’t get any better then this!
- Fiberglass – We use a lightweight tri-axel fiberglass to maximize torsional strength and responsive flex memory in all our boards.
- Steel Edges – Full wrap hardened and tempered steel edge. They are break-proof and wear-resistant and are thus specifically suitable for exposure to high loads and flex stresses. They are also known for their excellent sliding behaviour.
- Wood Cores – We use a U.S. made vertically laminated 100% tip to tail wood core. Our full wood cores make our decks light, strong and long lasting memory. In addition, full wood core boards have excellent bonding properties that assure us of the strongest bond possible.
